Cocoa Beach Air Show Takes Flight This Weekend!

The buzz of excitement is palpable here on the Space Coast as we gear up for an unforgettable weekend at the Cocoa Beach Air Show! Set against the stunning backdrop of our beloved shoreline, this year’s event promises to be a spectacular mix of heart-stopping aerial performances, with the legendary U.S. Navy Blue Angels set to take center stage. It’s hard to believe it’s been five years since they’ve graced our skies!

Chris Dorado, the director of public relations for the Cocoa Beach Air Show, mentioned how the Blue Angels returning is a big deal for our community. “It’s going to be very exciting,” he shared. With their precision flying and breathtaking stunts, the Blue Angels will surely draw crowds from all over Brevard County—so make sure to grab your spot early! Beyond the Blue Angels, families can also look forward to jaw-dropping performances from skilled military and civilian pilots, including the impressive F-16 Viper demo team from the Air Force.

Captain Adam Ryan, who leads the Blue Angels, gave us a sneak peek into what to expect. The team will showcase the remarkable capabilities of the F/A-18 Super Hornet, demonstrating close formation flying sometimes just a foot apart and high-speed passes that can push near the speed of sound. Whether you’re a lifelong aviation enthusiast or just looking for a fun family outing, the air show guarantees thrilling moments that you won’t want to miss.

Scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, the Cocoa Beach Air Show kicks off at noon each day, with the spectacular Blue Angels performance taking place at 3 p.m. To make the most of your day, Dorado suggests arriving early to secure parking and a prime viewing spot along the beach. Bring your sunscreen, beach chairs, and maybe even a picnic to enjoy as you soak in the excitement!

This weekend is shaping up to be a fantastic community experience, full of camaraderie and awe. So, gather your friends and family, and let’s celebrate the thrill of flight right here in our own backyard!
