Hundreds Turn Out for Health First Health Plans Day at the Brevard Zoo: A Perfect Family Adventure

Ever asked yourself, “Which way are the new lions?” while wandering through Brevard Zoo with the family? You’re not alone! Last weekend, Health First Health Plans hosted one of their signature community events that brought hundreds of local families together for a day of wildlife wonder and wholesome fun.

I couldn’t have asked for better conditions – sunny, cool, and crisp Chamber of Commerce weather greeted visitors as they streamed through the zoo entrance. It was one of those perfect Space Coast days that reminds us why we love living in Brevard County.

A Wild Success: What Made This Zoo Day Special

The Health First Health Plans Day wasn’t just another day at the zoo. As a Melbourne resident who’s visited the Brevard Zoo dozens of times, I can tell you this event had something extra special in the air.

Families were treated to:

  • Playful meerkats frolicking in their habitat
  • Majestic lions lounging in the sunshine
  • Black bears showing off their natural stalking behaviors
  • Alligators doing… well, whatever it is alligators do (mostly staying perfectly still until you turn your back!)

“We’ve never seen the animals so active,” said Melbourne mom Jennifer, who brought her three children to the event. “The kids haven’t stopped talking about the meerkats since we got here!”

Health First’s Community Commitment

This isn’t just a one-off event. Health First Health Plans hosts dozens of community gatherings throughout the year, both large and small. Their commitment to bringing Brevard families together for healthy, educational fun has made them a beloved fixture in our community.

What sets their events apart is the thoughtful planning that goes into creating experiences that appeal to all ages. From grandparents to toddlers, everyone found something to enjoy during the zoo day.

Why Local Families Couldn’t Get Enough

Beyond the animal attractions, Health First provided several interactive stations throughout the zoo where families could:

  • Learn about wildlife conservation efforts
  • Participate in health-focused activities
  • Enjoy complimentary refreshments
  • Connect with other local families

“We’ve lived in Palm Bay for years but never made it to the zoo until today,” shared one attendee. “Having Health First organize this made it feel more like a community gathering than just a regular zoo visit.”

Capturing Moments: Most Instagram-Worthy Spots

If you missed the event but plan to visit the zoo soon, don’t forget to snap photos at these picture-perfect locations:
