The Future of Space Launches on the Space Coast: What’s in Store for 2026
Hey Space Coast residents! If you’ve been looking up at our beautiful skies and wondering about all the action up there, you’re in for a treat. As we wrap up 2025 with a stunning record of 109 launches, we’re gearing up for an exciting year ahead in 2026. With local heroes like SpaceX, Blue Origin, and United Launch Alliance (ULA) ramping up their operations, it looks like we’ll be reaching for the stars more often than ever right here in Brevard County!
As we dive into 2026, forecasts predict a healthy batch of around 42 launches from the Cape, including 36 from SpaceX’s Falcon 9 and Falcon Heavy rockets. Notably, the Kennedy Space Center will host NASA’s Artemis II mission, featuring the powerful Space Launch System rocket. This launch aims to further humanity’s exploration of the moon and could set the stage for even larger ambitions in space. Can you feel the excitement in the air? Mark your calendars, folks! Upcoming launches include a SpaceX Falcon 9 mission on June 28 to send SiriusXM’s SXM-11 satellites into orbit, as well as a key ULA Atlas V mission for Amazon’s satellite constellation on July 3.
