Space Coast Native Speaks on Critical Infant Safety
From beaches to the bustling streets of our beloved Space Coast, Brevard County is known for its vibrant community and deep-seated connections. One local voice making waves in healthcare is Dr. Stephanie Haridopolos, a proud native of our area, who recently took the stage at a national workshop focused on a heartbreaking topic—sudden, unexpected infant deaths. As the Chief of Staff and Senior Advisor to the Office of the U.S. Surgeon General, Dr. Haridopolos is committed to advocating for vulnerable families during their most difficult times.
The workshop, organized by the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine, convened important figures from law enforcement, clinical practice, and public health to discuss compassionate and systematic responses to these tragic incidents. Dr. Haridopolos eloquently shared that “sudden unexpected infant death is, above all, a profound human tragedy—one that brings unimaginable grief, shock, and life-changing loss.” It’s a stark reminder that even in a community as lively as Brevard, these issues touch families and friends in ways we may not fully understand.
